Mechanical Design Engineer – SolidWorks

Marton Recruitment is working with a specialist engineering company to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing design team in Kent. The business delivers bespoke industrial plant and mechanical systems, supporting projects across a range of process and industrial sectors.

This role will involve working on the design and development of custom mechanical systems, including pipework, tanks, structural supports and mechanical assemblies. You will be involved throughout the design process, from concept layouts through to detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings.

Key responsibilities:

3D modelling and mechanical design using SolidWorks

*

Producing detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings

*

Designing layouts for pipework systems, tanks and mechanical plant equipment

*

Supporting project engineers and project teams with technical design input

*

Assisting with design coordination using tools such as Navisworks, Revit or Plant 3D (beneficial but not essential)

*

Working closely with engineering and site teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable

Requirements:

*

Experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Designer or CAD Designer

*

Strong SolidWorks experience

*

Experience designing industrial equipment, mechanical systems, fabrication or process plant

*

Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes

*

Ability to work on multiple engineering projects in a collaborative team environment
