The team is responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) pulsed power supplies, control systems, diagnostics and safety systems within a complex engineering environment.

In this role, you will support a variety of projects by producing electrical schematics and documentation for both new installations and existing systems. You will collaborate with engineers and technicians to develop solutions, improve processes, and ensure equipment is correctly documented and installed. The scope of work ranges from small electrical assemblies to large and complex machinery and infrastructure installations.

    Key Responsibilities

Create documentation packages in line with company procedures and relevant international standards.

Produce complete technical files including Bills of Materials, Load Schedules, Cable Schedules, Terminal Schedules, and supporting OEM manuals and datasheets.

Support the Electrical Systems team in documenting both current and future engineering projects.

Assist electrical technicians with equipment preparation, assembly and testing, and participate in commissioning activities where required.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure documentation and equipment meet project requirements.

Participate in technical reviews to help specify electrical components and control equipment for industrial and scientific automation systems.

    Produce detailed drawing packages including:

    Single line diagrams

    Wiring diagrams

    Control panel layouts

Building floor plans showing cable management and busbar arrangements

Update and modify existing designs and drawings in accordance with formal change management procedures.

Reverse engineer existing electrical systems to create accurate documentation.

Support integration of OEM equipment using manuals, I/O schedules and specification sheets.

Produce supporting documentation such as device lists and electrical load and distribution board schedules.

    Requirements

    Essential

HNC / HND (or equivalent) qualification in an electrical or related engineering discipline.

Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams and technical documentation.

Experience using electrical test and measurement equipment for troubleshooting and fault finding, with a hands-on approach.

Strong understanding of fundamental electrical principles.

Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Vault.

    Desirable

Practical knowledge of electrical design standards such as BS 7671, IEC 60204 and IEC 61439.

Awareness of functional safety standards such as ISO 13849 and IEC 61508.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools including Teams, Planner and OneDrive.

Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power Automate and Power BI.
