How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Sheffield

Inspire Resourcing are recruiting a Quality Inspector on behalf of a long‑established and growing manufacturing business in Sheffield. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and eager to take ownership of both hands‑on inspection work and the administrative backbone that keeps a quality function running smoothly.

The team are open to candidates with existing quality experience or strong administrators from a manufacturing environment who want to step into a quality career. What matters most is initiative, accountability, and the drive to learn.

You’ll be supported by a team, who will invest time in your development, but this role requires someone who can stand on their own two feet, take responsibility, and push things forward without needing constant supervision.

    Key Responsibilities

    Quality Inspection & Reporting:

Carry out manual inspection of goods and components to ensure they meet required specifications.

Complete and maintain inspection logs, reports, and documentation accurately and on time.

Generate non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up actions.

Support product testing and work alongside the Test Engineer on returns and investigations.

Conduct first‑off inspections using basic measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, multimeters).

    Quality Administration & Documentation

    * Keep quality documentation organised, updated, and compliant - including quality manuals, SOPs, and production documentation.

    * Write clear, structured reports and assist in creating or updating standard operating procedures.

    * Maintain calibration records and ensure processes meet ISO 9001 requirements.

    * Manage documentation to ensure traceability and audit readiness.

    Continuous Improvement & Support

    * Work with the wider operations/technical team to maintain and improve QHSE systems.

    * Support internal audits and help drive compliance with ISO and other certification standards.

    * Assist in resolving supplier issues, organising returns, and communicating quality concerns.

    * Participate in improvement projects aimed at reducing internal and external quality issues.

    * Support production teams with quality‑related queries and help implement corrective actions.

    Cross‑Functional Collaboration

    * Spend time on the production floor to understand processes, inspect goods, and support manufacturing teams.

    * Attend and contribute to regular meetings with the Operations Manager.

    The ideal candidate:

    Essential

    * Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.

    * Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

    * A self‑starter who takes initiative and doesn’t wait to be told what to do.

    * Ability to stay organised, keep documentation up to date, and take ownership of tasks.

    * Confident writing reports, updating manuals, and producing structured documentation.

    * Comfortable inspecting products and learning quality processes.

    * Good IT skills, especially MS Office.

    Desirable

    * Previous experience in a quality role.

    * Understanding of ISO 9001 or other quality standards.

    * Experience writing SOPs or quality documentation.

    * Electronics knowledge (helpful but absolutely not essential).

    The benefits

    * A supportive manager who will invest in your development - but expects you to take responsibility and show progression, especially after the first month.

    * A stable, friendly team environment with opportunities to grow your career in quality.

    * A varied role combining office‑based admin with hands‑on inspection work.

    * Days working

    * Excellent salary
