How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a well respected, and established law firm in the recruitment of a Medical Negligence Legal Assistant / Secretary.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Providing high-quality administrative support to the medical negligence solicitors and legal team.

    * Managing client correspondence, ensuring that all queries are dealt with promptly and professionally.

    * Organising and maintaining legal documents, ensuring all records are accurately filed and easily accessible.

    * Drafting legal documents, including letters, reports, and claims, under the direction of solicitors.

    * Liaising with clients, healthcare providers, and other relevant parties.

    * Assisting with case management, including preparing documents for hearings and meetings.

    * Handling sensitive and confidential information with the utmost professionalism and care.

    THIS POSITION CAN BE CONSIDERED ON A FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME BASIS (HOURS NEGOTIABLE)

    Skills & Qualifications:

    * It is essential that you have previous experience working in a legal assistant or secretary role, within medical negligence, personal injury or general litigation.

    * Strong organisational and multitasking skills.

    * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    * Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.

    * A proactive, client-focused approach.

    * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.

    * Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is desirable but not essential.
