How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Plumbing Lecturer

    Location: Cambridge
    Salary: £29,000 – £43,000 per annum
    Contract: Permanent | Full-Time (37 hours per week) | Full Year

    About the Role

    Our client are seeking an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Plumbing Lecturer to deliver high-quality, inspirational teaching across a range of programmes and learner age groups.

    As the Plumbing Lecturer you will play a key role in delivering engaging vocational education, supporting learner achievement, contributing to curriculum development, and helping to grow the Plumbing provision.

    This role may include evening, Saturday, and summer teaching as required.

    Plumbing Lecturer - Key Responsibilities

    Teaching & Learning

    * Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Plumbing programmes

    * Prepare Schemes of Work and Assessment

    * Develop teaching resources and assessment materials

    * Conduct assessment, internal moderation and verification

    * Integrate Maths & English into vocational delivery

    * Maintain accurate student records and meet awarding body requirements

    Plumbing Lecturer - Student Support & Progress

    * Act as Course Tutor, supporting learners to achieve their targets

    * Track progress and provide feedback to students, parents/guardians and employers

    * Support work placements and learner development

    Plumbing Lecturer - Curriculum & Team Contribution

    * Contribute to course design and curriculum development

    * Participate in course reviews and quality improvement

    * Liaise with awarding bodies and industry representatives

    * Support recruitment activities and promotional events

    Plumbing Lecturer - Professional Practice

    * Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and health & safety awareness

    * Develop strong industrial links

    * Engage in continued professional development

    What Our Client is Looking For

    Essential

    * Level 3 vocational qualification in Plumbing

    * GCSE (Grade C/4 or equivalent) in English and Maths

    * Substantial, recent industry experience in Plumbing

    * Strong communication and organisational skills

    * Ability to motivate learners of all ages and abilities

    * Current industry Health & Safety knowledge

    Desirable

    * Certificate in Education / PGCE / DTLLS (or willingness to achieve)

    * Assessor (A1) and/or Internal Verifier (V1) qualifications

    * Recent teaching, lecturing or training experience

    * Strong IT skills to develop engaging teaching resources

    Teaching Qualifications

    If you do not already hold a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or Certificate in Education), full training and support will be provided to achieve this in line with Further Education regulations.
