How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Permanent, onsite hardware test engineer role working on RF technologies
    North Cambridge; £DoE + Benefits
Based at offices in north Cambridge (close to rail and road links), this communications engineering company are hiring for an experienced engineer to work on RF automation and test development projects. The position works closely with the existing development team, providing analytics and measurements from RF hardware that feeds into future version hardware product iterations. This requires excellent documentation skills and strong attention to details for complex RF measurements. Key areas include: developing robust test setups to evaluate product performance (such as transmitters and receivers) according to 3GPP-aligned RF measurements; providing feedback to design and systems teams to support optimisation and engineering decisions; develop automated scripts to ensure reproducibility; and working to accepted global RF test standards.
    Requirements:
    * Degree in Electronics or similar, and demonstrable industry experience of RF concepts within the telecommunications product sector.
    * Experience with RF test equipment and understanding of 3GPP-based measurements for cellular systems.
    * Experience in test automation using Python or MATLAB.
    * Exposure to hands-on soldering experience for printed circuit boards.
Whilst this is a hands-on role, a good level of applied RF theory is expected as the position would collaborate with others within the team. On offer is an excellent compensation package including company share options.
