How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Sue Ross Recruitment are currently working with a leading international company, who are manufacturers of a well-known DIY brand. They are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Specialist with expertise in sea freight and deep-sea shipping, you will be joining a busy Specialist team within the Customer Service department. This is a full, time hybrid role.

    You will be responsible for providing first class customer service and specialist knowledge within the area of deep sea / sea freight shipping, technical guidance and supporting both internal and external customers. Responsibilities may include handling of important import and export documentation, research complex information, and building customer relationships.

    Key duties:

    * Receiving customer orders via incoming mail, telephone, and/or electronic contact regarding the organisation’s products and/or services

    * Works to ensure all orders received are entered into the ERP by order cut-off time.

    * Resolving questions and complaints within set timeframes

    * Assisting with reviewing and coordinating customer service activities pertaining to shipping, plant schedules, inventory levels, and sales activities by reviewing reports, orders, shipments, and other information as required or directed by management.

    * Identifying customer issues that need to be escalated to management in a timely fashion.

    * Developing and reviewing correspondence and documentation as appropriate regarding interaction with customers and responds to questions and concerns.

    * Building relationships with internal departments to ensure best service to end customer is achieved.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    * Previous experience within a deep sea / sea freight shipping role.

    * Knowledge of deep sea / sea freight shipping import and export documentation is essential.

    * Providing high standards of customer service

    * Resolving customer problems and concerns

    * Working with other departments and divisions

    * IT skills; ERP (SAGE and/or SAP beneficial), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applications as required.

    * Having positive influence in the team
