What you will do:
* Conduct highly independent development of product formulation, within the context of sustainability-improved cleaning and bioremediation
* Develop testing protocols for evaluation of new product formulations
* Determining physiochemical aspects of product stability and efficacy; conducting scientific experiments to develop chemical/bacterial products and defining laboratory/ experimental protocols;
* Designing tests and monitoring the environmental impacts of chemical formulations when designed and used for biotechnology
* Chemical and microbial analysis, QC, stability testing of products
* Design and produce prototype products to support field trials and consultancy projects
* Holistic product development with focus on application and requirements of clients
* Coordination of activities with adjacent teams - microbiological, manufacturing, commercial, field-testing and management
* Produce COSHH, risk assessments and standard operating procedures
* Ensure all desk and laboratory activities are in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025 and ISO 45001 standards and UKAS accreditation
The essential skills and experience you will need:
* Experience working in a commercial Formulation or Product Development environment within the cleaning, agrichemical or remediation products sector
* 4 - 5 Years’ practical laboratory experience
* Familiarity with chemical or environmental analytical methods
* Experience of product design and commercialisation of chemical or probiotic products in any industrial sector
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, showing creativity and adaptability
* Excellent numerical skills, data generation and manipulation, statistics analysis
The additional desirable skills and experience you may bring:
* Holistic breadth of understanding across Chemistry, Formulation Chemistry, Environmental Science and Microbiology
* Experience in working in ISO 17025 and ISO 45001 accredited laboratories
* Experience in pilot level scale-up, design, operations and manufacture

Salary description
£50000.00 - £70000.00 per year
