Remit:
* This position will suit an experienced engineering professional with prior experience in the installation and commissioning of new Capital equipment
* The successful Development Manager candidate will be an electrically biased Engineer with strong appreciation of plastics manufacturing machinery and ancillary equipment

Role:
* In the role of Development Manager you will be responsible for the safe installation of Capital equipment and site improvement projects
* As Development Manager you will lead on the identification, evaluation, development and implementation of new equipment and processing technologies
* Identify and specify new equipment, seeking out potential suppliers and gathering quotations
* Lead feasibility studies and technical evaluations for new equipment
* Working closely with suppliers on equipment design requirements / solutions
* Liaise with suppliers and OEM’s to ensure technical and commercial alignment
* Present to senior management the costs and timescales to realise a specific project
* Manage projects from inception through to handover to production in terms of safety, cost, time and quality
* Coordinate trials and validation of new machinery and equipment
* Collaborate with production and quality teams to embed new processes and standards
* Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams on machinery and processing
Experience Requirements:
* Time served electrically biased Engineer qualified to HNC / HND level
* Good working knowledge of Mechatronics, PLC Technology, Servo drives and Control systems
* Good communication skills with the ability to manage suppliers and contractors
* Experience on the safe installation and commissioning of new equipment
* Proven experience within plastics manufacturing
* Strong project management skills
* Experience with robotics and automation
* Understanding of health & safety requirements for industrial equipment
* Leadership and people management skills
