How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electronic & Software Design Engineer – West London
    £60000 - £65000, Annual Bonus, Hybrid Work (WFH), Pension, Medical insurance, Life Assurance, Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 5.00 pm (flexible)
    Technical Focus: Analogue & Digital Circuit Design, PIC Microcontroller Programming (C/Assembler), Altium PCB Layout, DFM, and Regulatory Compliance (EMC/LVD)
    The Company
    We represent a successful manufacturer of electromechanical systems for high-stakes, hazardous environments. Their products are precision-engineered to be intrinsically safe and resilient against fire and explosions. This role offers a rare opportunity to oversee the full product lifecycle from on-site manufacturing to international distribution.
    The Job
    As an experienced Electronics Engineer proficient in PIC microcontroller coding, you will join a small team developing products from concept to manufacture. You will manage designs from initial specification through to full production, ensuring hardware meets technical specs and CE marking requirements (EMC/LVD).
    Responsibilities
    * Product Design: Design and modify products from initial spec through testing, certification, and production.
    * PCB Layout: Use Altium for PCB layout and schematic capture.
    * Programming: Program, write, and debug code for 8-bit and 16-bit PIC microcontrollers in C and Assembler.
    * Prototyping: Perform breadboarding and internal/external testing and validation.
    * Compliance: Design for CE marking, EMC, and Low Voltage Directive (training provided).
    * Analysis: Benchmark, reverse engineer, and analyse circuits.
    About You
    As an Electronics Design Engineer with software coding skills, you should have the following skills and experience:
    Essential
    * HNC/HND/Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
    * Experience in a manufacturing company.
    * Good understanding of analogue and digital circuits.
    * Ability to design for ease of manufacture and assembly.
    * Experience with test and instrumentation equipment.
    Desirable
    * XC8 & XC16 Compilers and Microchip development tools.
    * PC-Lint and SIL compliance.
    * Design of electronics for use in an extended temperature range

    £60000.00 - £65000.00 per year
