Grounds Maintenance Operative

Job Type: Permanent (subject to successful probation)
Salary: £27,040 – £30,150 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 38 hours per week (paid for 40)
About the Role
We are seeking two experienced and motivated Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our established and supportive team. Reporting to the Grounds Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a variety of outdoor spaces to a consistently high standard.
This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone confident working independently, with the ability to support and occasionally lead a small team when required.
Key Responsibilities
* Lawn mowing using pedestrian, ride-on, and tractor equipment
* Strimming and hedge trimming
* Litter picking and leaf clearance
* General landscaping and grounds maintenance
* Sports field maintenance and line marking
* Winter gritting duties
* Safe operation of hand and power tools
* Towing trailers between sites
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience in grounds or landscape maintenance
* Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points)
* Experience towing trailers
* Ability to work independently and lead a small team when required
* Strong communication skills with a professional approach
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Availability to start between February and March (date TBC)
* Ability to provide work references
Desirable (but Not Essential)
* PA1 / PA6 certification
* Sports field maintenance and line marking experience
* Mechanical knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment
* Gardening or horticultural knowledge
