How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Building Surveyor - A role where you actually get trusted, stretched and supported

This is an opportunity to join a growing, independent building consultancy that values people over politics. A place where surveyors are trusted to think commercially, build client relationships and do meaningful work across a genuinely varied workload.

You will not be boxed into one narrow specialism. You will not be micromanaged. You will be encouraged to grow.

    What you will be doing

    • Delivering a mix of professional services and project work
    • Working on building surveys, dilapidations and reinstatement cost assessments
    • Getting involved in real project delivery, not just reports
    • Supporting junior surveyors and those on the APC pathway
    • Building long-term client relationships you can be proud of

    What we are looking for

    • Experience in building surveying, chartered or working towards it
    • Comfortable on site and client-facing
    • Commercially aware and practical in your approach
    • Keen to learn, contribute and get stuck in
    • Team-minded with a positive, proactive attitude

    Salary & benefits

    • Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
    • Bonus linked to performance
    • Car allowance or enhanced mileage
    • Private medical insurance
    • Paid professional fees
    • Strong holiday allowance
    • Hybrid working and flexible hours

Why this role will excite you

    • Variety every week, no rinse-and-repeat work
    • Real exposure to projects and professional services
    • Supportive environment for APC and career progression
    • A grown-up culture that treats you like a professional

If you want a role with trust, variety and long-term progression, apply now for a confidential conversation
