How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    *
Assess and submit quotations / compensation events
    *
Price and submit quotations for maintenance contract works
    *
Ensure scheme costs are accurately recorded in Nav13 and address any queries
    *
Prepare and submit final accounts, ensuring accurate and timely billing
    *
Manage subcontractors: issuing orders, assessing AFPs (Application for Payment) and processing payments
    Risk Management
    *
Identify financial risks early and support mitigation strategies
    *
Provide advice on claims, cost overruns and scope changes
    Communication & Collaboration
    *
Liaise with operational teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients
    *
Attend internal and external meetings (virtual and facetoface)
    *
Support efficient procurement through accurate cost data and strong supplier relationships
    🎓 What You’ll Bring
    Qualifications & Experience
    *
    Surveying degree or equivalent experience
    *
Experience with NEC3/4 contracts and working on frameworks
    *
Strong digital skills (particularly Microsoft Office)
    *
Proven background managing complex, highvalue civil engineering or drainage contracts — ideally within highways
    *
Experience administering NEC Option C contracts
    *
    Full, clean UK driving licence
    Skills & Attributes
We’re looking for someone who is:
    *
Highly organised with strong timemanagement skills
    *
A confident communicator — both written and verbal
    *
    Detaildriven, analytical and commercially aware

Adaptable and proactive, with strong relationshipbuilding skills
    *
    Professional, reliable and responsible
