How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Group Category Manager – Digital Technology

    Location: Stevenage

If you’re a strategic procurement professional who thrives on shaping technology categories and influencing internationally, this could be the role that finally tempts you to look up from what you’re doing now.

Our client are growing, and we’re looking for a Group Category Manager to help accelerate their digital capability across the UK and Europe. You’ll join a respected Digital Procurement team operating at Group level, partnering with colleagues across multiple countries, and helping the business make confident, future-focused buying decisions.

This isn’t a back-office procurement role. It’s a chance to work where technology, innovation and strategic planning intersect; a place where your expertise will genuinely influence the organisation.

    Why consider this?

Real influence at Group level, partnering across the UK and Europe

A base salary up to £75,000 + bonus (up to 21%), pension (up to 14%) and excellent facilities

Hybrid working, typically 2–3 days on site

The freedom to shape category strategy and how the business buys

A collaborative, international environment that develops its people

You’ll be joining a team recognised for its capability, openness and commitment to developing talent, somewhere you’ll continue to grow, whether you’re already a specialist in digital procurement or looking to broaden your category exposure.

    Where you’ll make an impact

You’ll lead strategies across one or more major technology categories, developing deep market understanding, shaping long-term procurement roadmaps and building strong internal and supplier relationships.

    That means:

    *

Creating short, mid and long-term category strategies

    *

Building market and supplier insight to guide decisions

    *

    Identifying opportunities, risks and innovation

    *

Mentoring and supporting Buyers on complex projects

    *

Collaborating across borders, cultures and functions

    *

Working with Information Management and wider digital stakeholders to define future needs

If you enjoy working globally, partnering with senior stakeholders and playing a critical role in tech-led transformation, this is your kind of environment.

    What you’ll bring

We’d love to speak with you if you are an experienced Category Manager in any of the following areas:

    *

    Software

    *

    Networks & Telecoms

    *

    Cyber

    *

    AI / High Performance Computing

    *

    Hardware

    *

    IT Services (Front/Back Office)

    *

    Data Centres & Storage

Or a senior procurement practitioner with the motivation to specialise in these areas

MCIPS is ideal, though not essential; they’re happy to support those working toward it.

If you’re curious about where this role might take you, we’d be pleased to have an informal conversation. Sometimes the best career moves start with a chat
