Mechanical Inspector
We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join a busy precision engineering business. You’ll be responsible for ensuring parts and components meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy, working across both manual and CMM inspection.
What you’ll be doing:
* Carrying out detailed inspections on machined parts and assemblies.
* Programming and operating a Mitutoyo CMM (M-Cosmos V5.3).
* Interpreting engineering drawings and applying GD&T principles.
* Managing NCRs and working with subcontractors to resolve issues.
* Booking in stock, preparing work for subcontract processes, and keeping internal systems up to date.
* Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining ISO9001 standards.
What we’re looking for:
* Strong background in precision or mechanical inspection.
* Confident using a wide range of hand and bench metrology equipment.
* Experience with CMM programming and operation.
* Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
* Good PC skills (MS Office); SAGE or PC-DMIS knowledge is a plus.
* Awareness of ISO14001 and experience with anodising or electroplating would be beneficial.
