How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Shift Maintenance Engineer

    A well-established manufacturing business in Poole is seeking a Shift Maintenance Engineer to support production reliability and ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment and site services.
    This role is ideal for a proactive engineer with strong fault-finding ability who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment. You will play a key role in reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring equipment downtime is minimised and production targets are met.
    Key Responsibilities
    Maintenance & Engineering
    *
    Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across production machinery and site services
    *
    Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on manufacturing equipment
    *
    Support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and performance
    Maintenance Systems (CMMS)
    *
    Operate and maintain the company Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
    *
    Support preventative, predictive, and condition-based maintenance activities
    *
    Assist with the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    Production Support
    *
    Provide engineering support to production teams to minimise downtime
    *
    Apply knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, and manufacturing techniques
    *
    Support quality control processes and continuous improvement initiatives
    Requirements
    *
    Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment
    *
    Strong fault-finding skills across production equipment
