How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: Planning Engineer

    REPORTING TO: Commercial Manager

    PURPOSE OF JOB:

    Produce detailed schedules for purchasing and detailed job planning for manufacturing departments in line with technical details and technical specifications supplied by the customer.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Work in a safe manner to promote personal safety and the safety of others to prevent accidents occurring and report all near misses.

    1. Able to read, understand technical drawings and understand technical requirements of the customer’s order to create detailed manufacturing plans.

    1. Produce detailed schedules for the purchasing department to procure both raw materials and sub contract services.

    1. Produce detailed job planning for the manufacturing process using the most efficient/cost effective process available.

    1. Ensure all departmental documentation is completed accurately and on time.

    1. Ensure working procedures are followed at all times.

    1. Where manufacturing information is up issued ensure that the old information is retrieved and taken out of circulation in a timely manner and all company procedures are followed.

    1. Ensure all information is securely stored in the correct location in both hard copy and electronically.

    1. Produce detailed Autocad drawings, Q Sketches and plant drawings ready for manufacture when necessary.

    1. Liaise with the manufacturing team throughout the contract when required to do so.

    1. Technically support the production departments.

    1. Liaise with the customer where necessary on technical issues of the contract to ensure “right first time” is achieved.

    1. Attend hand over, pre-production, update and productions meetings when necessary.

    1. Follow Company/Departmental Procedures.

    1. Any adhoc duties as and when requested to do so.

    1. Keep your work area clean and tidy and free from obstruction at all times thus creating a safe working environment.

    1. Use PPE at all times where you are required to do so and ensure that PPE is in good condition to offer the protection required to prevent personal injury. PPE must be replaced before it fails to provide the required protection.
