How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Join a Fast-Growing Diagnostics Team

Are you a skilled Biomedical Scientist with a passion for haematology? Our client is a dynamic diagnostics company transforming private blood testing across the UK. With a network of modern clinics and a state-of-the-art laboratory accredited to UKAS ISO 15189, they combine cutting-edge technology with a commitment to accuracy and patient care.

They’re looking for an experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Haematology) to join their growing team and make a real impact.

    What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll be a key player in a busy haematology service, applying your expertise to deliver accurate results and maintain the highest standards. You’ll:

    • Perform and interpret blood films, morphology, and coagulation testing.
    • Validate Haematology results independently, escalating clinical concerns when needed.
    • Lead technical management of haematology equipment, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with engineers.
    • Oversee IQC, EQA, calibrations, and method verifications.
    • Mentor and support junior staff, including training and competency assessments.
    • Maintain SOPs and ensure compliance with UKAS ISO 15189 standards.
    • Participate in audits, investigations, and CAPAs.
    • Support other lab areas and join the weekend/out-of-hours rota when required.

    About You

    • BSc in Biomedical Science with HCPC registration.
    • Minimum 6 years post-registration experience in Haematology within an accredited lab.
    • Strong experience in blood film review, morphology, and coagulation.
    • Confident working independently with excellent clinical judgment.
    • In-depth knowledge of Haematology, coagulation, and UKAS ISO 15189 standards.
    • Excellent organisational, mentoring, and communication skills.
    • IT proficient (MS Office, LIMS, QMS).

    Why You’ll Love Working Here

    • Competitive salary with company pension.
    • 28 days’ holiday including bank holidays (pro rata).
    • Free annual health blood screening for you or your family/friends.
    • CPD, training, and career development opportunities.
    • Employee discounts and on-site parking.
  • Location: In-person

If you’re ready to take the next step in your haematology career and be part of a team that values expertise, collaboration, and innovation, we’d love to hear from you.
