About The Role
DP World looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator to play a key role in our UK Transport Department (Freight Forwarding). In this operational role, you’ll work closely with teams across the business to ensure transport requirements are met efficiently and cost-effectively. You’ll support the development of the department, liaise with suppliers, and help deliver seamless logistics solutions that meet both customer expectations and commercial goals.
NOTE: This role is based in our Manchester office and is an onsite Monday – Friday position.
How Will You Contribute
- Coordinate and book transport with haulage partners in line with customer requirements and service expectations.
- Perform daily checks to ensure all transport operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Monitor delivery performance and proactively address any delays or service issues.
- Communicate delivery updates to customers, providing timely information and managing expectations.
- Liaise with haulage partners to resolve operational issues, ensuring effective and timely solutions are implemented.
- Prepare and distribute daily operational reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport records within the in-house system.
- Conduct an operational role in the UK Transport Department (Freight Forwarding) working with all operations departments across the business.
- To work closely with line manager at an operational level and assist with developing the department
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure all operational requirements of the business are fulfilled as request, as well as ensuring the most cost-efficient solution is utilised.
What You Will Bring
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of logistics operations and transport planning (desirable).
- Good geographical awareness of the UK road network.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.
- You take pride in getting things right the first time. You’re meticulous, organised, and nothing escapes your notice.
- Confident communicator—clear, articulate, and tactful. Whether speaking to individuals or groups, you adapt your style to suit the audience and can convey complex information with ease.
- You work well independently but thrive in a team environment. You’re approachable, reliable, and build strong working relationships across diverse teams.
- You’re flexible and open to change, able to adjust to shifting priorities and operational demands.
