    Purpose of the Role:

    We are seeking a proactive and organised Logistics Assistant to support the Logistics Manager in the smooth day-to-day running of the business. This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating operations and working collaboratively within a team environment.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Scheduling and coordinating deliveries and collections of ground protection panels, ensuring project timeframes are met.
    • Liaising with hauliers, crews on site and the sales team to ensure clear communication across all operations
    • Monitoring the movement of panels to and from project sites, reconciling inventory against site deliveries and collections tickets
    • Resolve any scheduling discrepancies and manage any site delays
    • Assisting with damage and loss issues relating to stock
    • Responsible for raising and monitoring all the Logistics Purchase Orders/Transport Orders and communicating with individuals and the finance team if there are any concerns
    • Assisting with stock control and inventory management
    • Act as first point of contact within the Logistics Office during working hours to ensure phone calls are taken and queries are dealt with in a time affective manner
    • Sourcing haulage at competitive rates
    • Update and maintain key operational management systems, including all digital and hard copy
    • Responsible for booking hotels for crews working away
    • Monitor and communicate operational training requirements using data from HR, HSE and to ensure compliance with company requirement
    • Provide cover for Logistics Manager role
    • Supporting daily administrative and logistics tasks
    • Helping to ensure all operations run efficiently and on schedule


    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Proven experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain administration (typically 2+ years)
    • High accuracy in recording data, managing inventory, and processing documentation
    • Strong, intermediate-to-advanced Office & Excel skills. Experience with hire management systems, ERP/TMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) is highly desirable
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with hauliers and internal teams
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a professional and friendly telephone manner.
