    The Role

    The Fleet & Plant Auditor is integral to ensuring operational efficiency and compliance within the Group’s fleet and plant management and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with policies, legal regulations and industry best practices in the management of fleet and plant equipment. The role involves conducting audits, inspections and reviews to identify areas for improvement and maintain operational efficiency. This includes travelling to our depots and surrounding areas to meet with site teams.


    Responsibilities

    • Carry our audits and compliance checks on fleet and plant equipment to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards
    • Ensure all fleet and plant assets are recorded and maintained within tracking systems
    • Review inspection checklists completed by drivers and operators, identifying any defects or safety concerns
    • Investigate issues and escalate non-compliance or risks to the Plant and Transport Compliance Manager and relevant stakeholders
    • Conduct regular site visits to audit equipment and assess compliance across operational locations
    • Monitor service and maintenance schedules to ensure all assets remain compliant and operational
    • Produce audit reports clearly outlining findings, risks and recommendations
    • Liaise closely with internal teams to address discrepancies and ensure corrective actions are implemented
    • Support external regulatory audits (e/g/ DVSA, HSE) as required
    • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures

    Technical Skills & Experience

    • Experience in fleet and plant compliance
    • Understanding of relevant regulations (e.g. DVSA, vehicle and plant compliance standards) and experience working with regulatory bodies
    • Experience conducting audits and inspections with the ability to identify non-compliant fleet and plant
    • Ability to interpret inspection checklists and compliance documentation
    • Experience using asset tracking or fleet management systems
    • Full UK Driving Licence


    Qualifications & Training

    • A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
    • GCSEs Grade 4-9 or equivalent
    • Certificate in transport auditing or fleet/plant compliance (non-essential)
