How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Solicitor/Associate – Property Litigation – Award-Winning Regional Firm

    Preston | Hybrid Working

    £45,000 – £60,000+ DOE

I am working with a highly regarded, award-winning regional law firm looking to appoint a Solicitor/Associate to join its well-established Property Litigation team in Preston.

The team is recognised in the Legal 500 for its technical expertise and quality of work, advising a broad client base across both commercial and residential property disputes. You will be joining a collaborative and well-structured team comprising Partners, senior lawyers and junior fee earners, all working together on a wide range of complex and varied matters.

    The Opportunity

This is a genuinely diverse Property Litigation role offering exposure to high quality work across a broad spectrum of contentious property matters, including:

    • Landlord and tenant disputes (including lease renewals, dilapidations and forfeiture)
    • Real property disputes such as easements, restrictive covenants and rights of light
    • Property-related contractual disputes
    • Possession and trespass claims
    • Professional negligence matters involving property professionals

You will manage your own caseload while also supporting senior members of the team on more complex matters. The role offers excellent scope to develop your technical expertise while gaining exposure to high quality clients and work.

You will also be encouraged to contribute to business development and play a key role in the continued growth of the team.

    About You

The firm is ideally seeking a solicitor with 4+ years’ PQE in Property Litigation, although candidates outside of this range with the right experience will be considered.

    You will demonstrate:

    • Strong experience handling a range of property litigation matters
    • The ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
    • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
    • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
    • A proactive and commercially minded approach
    • A genuine interest in developing your career within property litigation

This role would suit an ambitious and driven litigator looking to join a supportive, forward-thinking team with a strong reputation in the North West.

    The Firm

You will be joining a progressive and people-focused firm with an excellent reputation across the region. The culture is collaborative and supportive, with a genuine emphasis on employee wellbeing and long-term career development.

Flexible working is embedded within the firm, allowing you to balance high quality work with your personal commitments while continuing to deliver excellent client service.

    Benefits

    • Reduced chargeable hours target
    • Annual bonus scheme and regular salary reviews
    • Health cash plan and Employee Assistance Programme
    • Increasing holiday entitlement with service
    • Paid volunteering days
    • Additional lifestyle benefits including free legal services
    • Clear and structured progression opportunities
    • Regular social events and firm-wide recognition initiatives

If you are a motivated Property Litigation solicitor looking to take the next step in your career within a highly regarded regional firm, I would be keen to speak with you.
