How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Team


    The Disputes team is one of the firm's largest with 300+ lawyers which lead in high-value, international insurance disputes. Recognised across commercial litigation, arbitration, fraud and finance matters, the team acts exclusively for highly-regarded policyholders, including FTSE 350 and Fortune 500 companies.


    This highly ranked practice is led by two heavy-hitting Partners with over three decades combined at the firm, supported by a strong group of experienced lawyers who bring considerable depth of knowledge across the Insurance sector. You will work collaboratively with the senior members of the insurance team and the wider departments such as financial and professional services, retail and consumer, real estate, construction, and pharmaceuticals and healthcare.


    This is a platform that offers genuine scope to develop long-term client relationships, strengthen your market profile and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of a highly regarded practice.


    The Role


    Joining the firm’s highly respected Insurance Policyholder Disputes team, you will advise on a wide range of complex and international, multiparty disputes, mediation, arbitration and litigation, captives and policy reviews. Within areas such as Employers and product liability, crime, property, trade credit and political risk, D&O, and many more. You will also have exposure to handling Bermuda Form arbitration disputes.


    You will be delivery expert advice to a range topics including; scope of the duty of disclosure, drafting and interpretation of policy wordings, consequences of breaches of policy terms, claims notification and control provisions, relationships with brokers, insurers' rights of inspection and the effect of insurance covenants in commercial agreements.


    As a Managing Associate, you will be a key member of a busy, high-performing and collegiate team. You will work closely with partners on complex matters, contribute to the ongoing development of client relationships and collaborate across the firm’s insurance policyholder practice.


    There is a genuine focus on continuous development and long-term progression. You will be encouraged to take on significant responsibility, lead matters, play an active role in business development and support the supervision and development of junior lawyers - all within a supportive environment that is invested in your future at the firm.


    Requirements


    • Be a qualified solicitor with at least 6 years' PQE, with complex Commercial disputes, with a strong emphasis on insurance disputes.
    • Proven ability to lead complex matters and manage client relationships at a senior level.
    • Strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development.
    • Experience supervising and developing junior lawyers.
    • A collaborative, strategic, and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
