How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Employment Advisor – Employability & Skills Programme

    Location: Walsall (Office & Community-Based – No Home Working)

    Pay Rate: £18.35 per hour PAYE | £24.34 per hour Umbrella

    Contract: Temporary (Until March 2027)

    Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

    Seven Resourcing are recruiting for experienced and motivated Employment Advisors to join a well-established Employment & Skills Team delivering impactful welfare-to-work and employability programmes across Walsall.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to support unemployed and economically inactive residents into employment, education, or training, making a real difference within local communities. The role is fully community-based, working across libraries, job centres, and outreach venues.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage a caseload of clients, providing tailored employment support and career guidance
    • Deliver high-quality careers information, advice and guidance (CIAG) to support individuals into work or training
    • Identify and address barriers to employment, including complex social and economic challenges
    • Develop personalised action plans to support participants in achieving sustainable outcomes
    • Work across community venues, job centres, and outreach locations to engage with service users
    • Build strong relationships with local employers, training providers, and partner organisations
    • Support individuals with CV writing, interview preparation, and job applications
    • Monitor and track participant progress, ensuring outcomes are recorded and reported accurately
    • Engage with residents furthest from the labour market, increasing participation in employability programmes

    Requirements

    • Experience working in employment support, welfare-to-work, careers guidance, or similar sectors
    • Qualification at Level 4 or above in CIAG (Careers Information, Advice and Guidance) or equivalent experience
    • Strong understanding of barriers to employment and local labour market challenges
    • Experience managing complex caseloads and supporting diverse client groups
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a community-based, outreach-focused role
    • Background in social work, teaching, housing, or regeneration is desirable
