Legal Counsel UK&I
Looking for a role where your legal expertise genuinely shapes business strategy? This is a standout opportunity for a sharp, commercially minded Legal Counsel to become the go‑to legal partner for a major UK&I business within a global group.
Based in Reading and/or Aylesbury (4 days in the office), you’ll work closely with senior leadership and play a pivotal role in driving strategic, commercial, and operational decisions across the region.
This is ideal for a hands-on individual who is used to a high‑visibility, high‑impact role where your legal insight directly influences strategy, operations, and growth across the UK&I region.
What You’ll Own:
- Be the primary legal advisor for all UK&I commercials and operations
- Lead on commercial contracting, especially sale & supply agreements
- Manage pre‑ and post‑dispute matters, working with internal teams and external counsel
- Deliver compliance guidance & training across competition law, data protection, anti‑bribery and more
- Provide broad corporate, commercial, real estate, employment, and IP advice
- Support strategic initiatives including restructuring, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders at senior levels
What You Bring:
- UK‑qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE
- Strong grounding in commercial or corporate law from a top firm or robust in‑house environment
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the confidence to advise senior leaders
- Ability to juggle multiple matters with sound commercial judgment
- A collaborative, curious, and relationship‑driven approach
Salary & Benefits:
The salary and benefits package will vary depending on experience and ranges from £100,000 to £140,000, plus bonus, private medical insurance, 25 days’ holiday, and a wide range of additional benefits.
