Pastoral Assistant – Nottingham

Milk Education is recruiting compassionate and proactive Pastoral Assistants to support pupils across schools in Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about helping young people thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with emotional, social, and behavioural needs within the school environment.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to build confidence, resilience, and engagement.
- Help pupils develop strategies to manage emotions and improve behaviour.
- Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support individual pupil needs.
- Monitor pupil progress, recording observations and providing feedback to staff and parents.
- Act as a positive role model and build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support transitions, lunchtime activities, and mentoring sessions as required.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally in schools, SEMH, or SEN settings.
- Understanding of behaviour management techniques and pastoral care strategies.
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under guidance while using initiative to support pupils.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
