How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR


    Carbon60 is looking to recruit experienced Mechanical Supervisors to support a long-term project with a leading construction and engineering client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major project with a strong pipeline of work.


    ROLE: Mechanical Supervisor

    RATE: £31.50 per hour (Umbrella) - based on a 43-hour week (some flexibility depending on experience)

    CONTRACT: 2 Years

    LOCATION: St. Mawgan, Manchester


    THE ROLE:

    You will be responsible for overseeing mechanical work packages on-site, ensuring delivery is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role focuses on managing subcontractors rather than direct labour, ensuring all activities align with project timelines and quality expectations.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage and oversee mechanical work packages across the project

    • Supervise subcontractors on-site, ensuring performance and productivity

    • Ensure all work is completed in line with project specifications and deadlines

    • Monitor quality, safety, and compliance with site procedures

    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades

    • Conduct site inspections and resolve technical or operational issues

    • Ensure all health & safety standards and regulations are adhered to

    • Maintain accurate site records and progress reports


    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor within construction or building services projects

    • Strong experience managing subcontractors and work packages

    • Good understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, pipework, plumbing, etc.)

    • Solid knowledge of health & safety regulations on-site

    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

    • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills


    MANDATORY:

    • Must hold or be eligible for full SC (Security Clearance)
