About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HV AP Shift Lead to oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and control of high-voltage electrical systems within a critical environment. This role is responsible for leading shift teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and acting as the primary Authorised Person for HV operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the designated High Voltage Authorised Person (HV AP), responsible for issuing permits, switching operations, and ensuring safe systems of work
- Lead and supervise shift technicians and engineers to ensure efficient and safe operations
- Carry out HV switching, isolation, and fault response activities in line with site procedures
- Ensure compliance with all electrical safety rules, statutory regulations, and company policies
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities on HV/LV systems
- Respond to incidents and emergencies, leading fault diagnosis and resolution
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports for all HV activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience operating as a High Voltage Authorised Person
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems and switching procedures
- Experience in critical environments (e.g., data centres, utilities, industrial sites) preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a shift-based environment
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and risk management
- Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions
- Excellent communication and team management skills
