We are seeking an experienced and qualified Technical Trainer to deliver Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Technical Training (BTT) and ECITB-accredited Bolting courses to delegates across the wind energy and wider industrial sectors.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver GWO BTT modules including Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical and Installation
- Deliver ECITB Bolting courses covering mechanical joint integrity, bolt tightening techniques, torque and tension methods, and relevant safety practices
- Assess delegate competence through practical and theoretical assessments in line with awarding body requirements
- Maintain accurate training records, registers, and assessment documentation
- Ensure all training equipment is maintained, fit for purpose, and compliant with relevant standards
- Stay current with GWO standard updates, ECITB scheme revisions, and industry best practice
- Support course coordination and administration as required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials and delivery methods
- Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment for all delegates
Essential Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following two profiles:
Profile A – Qualified Trainer
- Holds current GWO BTT Instructor authorisation across one or more modules
- Holds ECITB Bolting Assessor/Trainer accreditation (Mechanical Joint Integrity)
- Recognised training or education qualification
Profile B – Industry Experienced (Trainee Trainer Pathway)
- Significant hands-on industry experience in a relevant technical role, such as: Electrician / Electrical Technician
- Mechanical Fitter / Engineer
- Bolting Technician / Mechanical Joint Integrity Specialist
- Wind Turbine Technician
- Offshore or Industrial Maintenance Technician
- Able to demonstrate strong practical knowledge of the subject matter they will be trained to deliver
- Willing to work towards GWO Instructor authorisation and/or ECITB accreditation, supported by the company
All candidates must also demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of relevant health & safety legislation and safe systems of work
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to deliver training at various sites or client premises
Desirable Requirements
- Additional GWO certifications (e.g. Advanced Rescue, Enhanced First Aid)
- ECITB accreditation in additional schemes (e.g. Rigging & Slinging, Pipefitting)
- Previous experience in a training, coaching, or mentoring capacity, even informally
- Experience with digital training platforms and e-learning tools
- Offshore experience
