    Job description

SENCO / EYFS Teacher | Nursery School & Children's Centre | Clapham, Lambeth

A Rare and Exciting SENCO Opportunity in Clapham - Could This Be Your Perfect Role?

Are you a qualified SENCO with a passion for early years and a genuine commitment to making a difference for the youngest and most vulnerable learners? SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to be working with a wonderful nursery school and children's centre in Clapham, Lambeth to find an exceptional individual for this unique and rewarding dual role.

This is not your average teaching position - and it's not looking for your average teacher.

    About the Role

This is a genuinely special opportunity to join a thriving nursery school and children's centre at the very heart of the Clapham community. This is a split role - 50% dedicated SENCO responsibilities and 50% class teaching - making it the perfect position for someone who loves being in the classroom but also has the expertise, empathy and organisational skills to lead special educational needs provision across the setting.

You'll be working with some of the most fascinating, rewarding and complex learners in education - young children at the very start of their journey, many of whom need skilled, patient and knowledgeable support to truly flourish.

This is a permanent position for the right candidate.

    Start Date: April 2026

    Why This School?

A nurturing, close-knit nursery school and children's centre with a strong reputation in Clapham
A deeply inclusive ethos where every child - regardless of need - is valued and celebrated
Highly experienced early years staff who are passionate about what they do
Strong links with families, health professionals and external agencies
Supportive leadership that understands the demands of the SENCO role and actively reduces unnecessary workload
A school that genuinely puts children - and staff - first

    As SENCO you will:

Lead and coordinate SEN provision across the nursery and children's centre
Manage and review EHCPs, working closely with the local authority
Liaise with parents, carers, health visitors, speech and language therapists and other external professionals
Support and advise colleagues on meeting the needs of children with SEND
Maintain the SEND register and ensure all statutory responsibilities are met
Champion an inclusive culture throughout the setting

As an EYFS Teacher you will:

Deliver high quality, play-based learning for nursery aged children
Plan and assess in line with the EYFS framework
Build warm, trusting relationships with children and families
Support children's early communication, social and emotional development

🏫 A setting worth dedicating yourself to - This nursery school and children's centre is a genuinely special place. Inclusive, warm and deeply committed to every family it serves.

📈 A role that develops you professionally - Leading SEND in an early years setting is one of the most stretching and rewarding things you can do as an education professional. You will grow enormously in this role.

📍 Clapham - perfectly connected - Easy to reach from across South London and beyond, with excellent transport links throughout Lambeth and the wider city.

    What We're Looking For

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
National Award for SEN Coordination - NASENCo (essential)
Proven experience working in an EYFS or early years setting
Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP process
Experience coordinating or leading SEN provision, ideally in an early years context
A confident, collaborative approach to working with families and external agencies
Warmth, patience and a deeply inclusive outlook
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with calm efficiency

This Role Won't Be Around for Long.

SENCO positions in outstanding early years settings in Lambeth are exceptionally rare - and this one combines everything that makes the role meaningful with a beautiful school community to be part of. If it speaks to you, please don't hesitate.

Reach out to Stuart Lovelock today for a warm, completely confidential conversation about the role.
