    About Digby

    Digby Fine English is one of the UK’s leading producers of luxury English sparkling wine. The English sparkling wine industry is one of the fastest growing wine regions in the world, and Digby is at the forefront of this movement. Based in Arundel, West Sussex, we own and work with some of the country’s best vineyards to produce internationally recognised sparkling wines.


    The Role

    As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Operations Supervisor to help coordinate production,

    logistics and stock management across our winery and partner facilities.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Production & Supplier Coordination:
    • Coordinate secondary winemaking activities including lees ageing, riddling, disgorging and labelling with outsourced partners
    • Maintain quality, consistency and delivery timelines
    • Manage supplier communication and work orders
    • Logistics & Dispatch
    • Occasional labelling and packaging of sparkling wine for special orders
    • Dispatching regular pallets of wine for trade orders
    • Dispatching regular small orders
    • Logistics: Managing the relationship with our courier and delivery partners
    • Stock data and systems management: Record keeping of goods received, goods despatched, and work orders performed

    Stock & Systems:

    • Maintain accurate stock and production records
    • Track goods received, work orders, goods despatched
    • Monitor and maintain dry goods stock levels and oversee procurement

    Operational planning:

    • Support production planning and capacity management
    • Work with sales on dispatch planning

    Occasional duties arising, for example

    • Other administration: sales and finance administration on occasion
    • Helping with event logistics
    • Assisting with vineyard logistics coordination


    Skills & Experience:

    • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple task and priorities in a fast-moving, customer-centric environment
    • Focus on achieving world-class quality and customer service at all stages of operations
    • Willingness to learn on the job
    • Positive and proactive attitude when it comes to problem solving
    • Engaging teamwork as a key member of a small team
    • Comfortable learning new IT systems and exploring potential of AI
    • Microsoft Office & Google Workspace proficient
    • Clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle essential
    • Prior wine industry experience helpful but not required
    • Forklift driving certification helpful but not required
    • Ability to lift and handle cases of wine up to 25 kg


    Location This role is based at our headquarters at 55-57 High Street, Arundel, BN18 9AJ, and also at our winery just outside Arundel: Madehurst Winery, Madehurst Road, Black Barn Farm, Madehurst, West Sussex BN18 0NJ


    Working Hours

    Monday to Friday 8:30 – 5:00, with a half hour for lunch

    Working patterns under consideration. Full-time (minimum four days per week)
