How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The Role: Women in Tech Ambassador (UK)

We are looking for passionate Ambassadors across the United Kingdom who would like to support the growth of the FemTechConf community within their local tech ecosystem.

This is a voluntary community leadership role designed for individuals who care about advancing women in technology and helping strengthen the UK’s Women in Tech network.

Ambassadors help connect local communities to the wider FemTechConf ecosystem by sharing opportunities, highlighting inspiring voices in tech, and supporting the growth of inclusive spaces within the industry.

Importantly, there is no fixed time commitment. Ambassadors contribute in ways that fit naturally around their schedules and existing professional commitments.

    What Ambassadors Typically Support With

Ambassadors may choose to contribute in ways such as:

    • Representing FemTechConf within their city or regional tech community

    • Helping grow and connect the local Women in Tech ecosystem

    • Sharing FemTechConf initiatives and upcoming events with their network

    • Identifying inspiring women leaders and rising talent in the UK tech community

    • Supporting outreach to potential speakers, partners, or attendees

    • Helping connect FemTechConf with organisations interested in sponsoring or supporting the Women in Tech Scholarship Initiative

    • Occasionally hosting or supporting informal community meetups or networking gatherings

    • Sharing community highlights or Women in Tech stories on LinkedIn or social media

Ambassadors are not expected to do all of the above. Contributions are flexible and driven by what feels most natural within their network and interests.

    Who This Role Is For

We welcome ambassadors from across the UK tech ecosystem, including professionals in:

Technology, Engineering, Product, Data, AI, Design, Venture, Leadership, People & Culture, or other technology-related roles.

We are especially excited to hear from people who:

    • Are passionate about advancing women in technology

    • Are active within their local tech ecosystem

    • Enjoy connecting people and building community

    • Are comfortable engaging on LinkedIn or at industry events

    • Want to contribute to meaningful initiatives within the tech industry

Experience in community building, event organisation, public speaking, ecosystem partnerships, or employer branding is a plus, but not required.

    What Ambassadors Receive

Although this is a voluntary role, ambassadors gain access to a number of opportunities within the FemTechConf ecosystem.

    These may include:

    • Access to selected FemTechConf events and private community initiatives

    • Opportunities to collaborate with founders, senior leaders, and industry experts across the global tech ecosystem

    • Visibility within a global network of more than 450,000 professionals

    • Opportunities to moderate panels, host sessions, or contribute as a speaker at community events and conferences

    • Exposure to leading technology companies and hiring partners participating in the FemTechConf ecosystem

    • The opportunity to build your personal brand within the Women in Tech ecosystem

    • The ability to create tangible impact within your local tech community

    • The chance to actively contribute to meaningful change within the global technology industry and help shape a more inclusive future

    • Opportunities to connect with ambassadors across multiple countries and expand your international professional network

    • The ability to support emerging talent and help elevate the next generation of women in technology

    • Access to high-level conversations and insights from across the global tech ecosystem

    • Opportunities for leadership development and mentorship within a growing international community

    • Recognition as a community leader within the FemTechConf ecosystem

Through the FemTechConf ecosystem and its events, more than 70 women have already discovered new career opportunities within partner companies, demonstrating the real-world impact of the community.

    Time Commitment and Compensation

This is a fully flexible, voluntary role.

There is no fixed monthly commitment and ambassadors are welcome to contribute in ways that fit naturally around their professional and personal schedules.

Some ambassadors may be more active around specific events or initiatives, while others primarily support by connecting their networks and sharing opportunities. Most ambassadors commit up to 3-5 hours a month but your commitment can align with your availability and current schedule.

This role doesn't offer remuneration or paid compensation, however, for larger initiatives or ambassadors who take on leadership or major community initiatives, additional structured compensation arrangements may be discussed.

    How to Apply

If you would like to join the FemTechConf Ambassador network, you can:
