Facilities Maintenance Engineer – Wrexham (Permanent)
Starting Salary: from £35,000
Hours: Mon–Thu 08:00–17:15, Fri 08:00–16:15
(Approx. 21–23 non‑working Fridays per year)
I'm currently recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing organisation based in Wrexham. This team plays a crucial part in delivering maintenance projects across the site, supporting production, moulding, and automation functions. The Role
As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you’ll work closely with teams across the factory, providing both electrical and mechanical support. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Electrical installation work
- Mechanical maintenance and installation in line with the company’s Safe System of Work and isolation procedures
- General facilities maintenance, including sourcing and managing contractors for multiple projects
- Working to a planned maintenance schedule while remaining flexible to support Production and Moulding Operations
- Making basic PLC adjustments where required
- Supporting energy-saving initiatives and improvements
- Attending and resolving production breakdowns, including maintenance on automation equipment
What You’ll Need
To be successful in this role, you should bring:
- A strong motivation for developing your skills and technical knowledge
- Creative problem-solving abilities, particularly across electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and confidence managing repairs and improvement projects
- The ability to collaborate effectively across departments, with clear communication and a proactive, team‑focused attitude
- A commitment to working safely and taking ownership of tasks
About You
Ideally, you will have:
- A completed HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 18th Edition qualification
- Experience or knowledge of small building projects (e.g., plumbing, heating, boiler systems)
