Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a secondary school in Barrow-in-Furness to appoint a dedicated DT Teacher for a long-term role. This position offers the opportunity to truly embed yourself within the department, build lasting relationships with students, and see their projects through from initial concept to final build.
The Role (Long-Term Placement)
Unlike short-term supply, this role allows you to take full ownership of the DT curriculum for your classes. We are looking for a specialist-ideally with a background in Resistant Materials, Product Design, or Engineering-who is ready to commit to the school community.
Full Teaching Responsibility: Planning, delivering, and marking for KS3 and KS4 (GCSE).
Consistency: A guaranteed full-time schedule (Monday - Friday) for the duration of the placement.
Project Oversight: Guiding students through their Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) and ensuring high-quality practical outcomes.
Department Integration: Attending staff meetings, parents' evenings, and contributing to departmental development.
