What Does a Science Teacher Do?
A Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging lessons across key scientific disciplines. You will support students aged 11–16 (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4), helping them develop scientific knowledge, practical skills, and critical thinking, while preparing them for GCSE Science examinations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teach Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics depending on your specialism
Plan and deliver interactive and differentiated lessons
Conduct and supervise practical experiments safely
Assess, monitor, and track student progress
Prepare students for GCSE Science exams
Maintain strong classroom management and behaviour standards
Encourage curiosity and enthusiasm for science
Requirements
The successful Science Teacher will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)(ECTs are welcome to apply)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level (KS3/KS4)
A specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics (desirable)
Strong classroom management skills
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
A passion for science education and student development
