Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience.
Teach Now is working with a vibrant, inclusive Church of England primary school in Islington, just a short walk from Old Street. Serving a diverse inner-London community, the school has a strong values-driven ethos and a nurturing Early Years provision where children are supported to flourish academically, socially and spiritually through a creative and engaging curriculum.

We are seeking an experienced Nursery Teacher to lead teaching in a 3–4 year old setting. From April, the class will consist of 25 children (a mix of 15- and 30-hour placements), supported by a full-time nursery nurse. This is a long-term opportunity for a committed Early Years specialist.

Age Range: 3–4 year olds (Nursery)
Class Size: 25 children (from April), supported by a full-time nursery nurse
Process: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to deliver a trial lesson

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Recent experience teaching in EYFS, ideally with 3–4 year olds

• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and play-based learning approaches

• Experience working with mixed nursery cohorts (15 and 30-hour placements)

• Ability to work effectively with support staff and communicate with parents

• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and the school’s Christian values

Key Responsibilities

• Lead teaching and learning within a 3–4 year old nursery class

• Plan and deliver high-quality, play-based learning aligned with the EYFS framework

• Support children’s development across communication, language, personal, social, emotional and early literacy/numeracy

• Use observational assessment to inform planning and ensure progress for all learners

• Work closely with the EYFS Phase Lead, nursery nurse and wider staff team

• Build strong relationships with parents and carers, supporting effective home–school communication
