How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Masterclass Education is working with a highly regarded independent school in the Bristol area to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science. This vacancy has arisen due to the continued growth of the school and increased demand for Science at GCSE and A Level, offering an excellent opportunity to join a thriving academic community and inspire students through scientific inquiry and discovery.

    About the Role

    As a Teacher of Science, you will:
    • Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach KS5 depending on experience
    • Teach across the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), with subject specialism welcomed
    • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of scientific concepts through practical and theoretical learning
    • Plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
    • Contribute positively to departmental development and wider school enrichment activities

    About You

    The ideal candidate will:
    • Be a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) or have relevant subject expertise
    • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Science
    • Be committed to high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement
    • Enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting students beyond the classroom
