Tradewind Recruitment are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Graduate Teacher Programme in the Kettering area, designed to support graduates in gaining school experience before starting formal teacher training in September.
This programme is ideal for graduates who are considering a career in teaching and would like to build classroom experience, develop behaviour management skills, and gain a strong understanding of the UK education system before beginning teacher training.
About the Programme
The Tradewind Graduate Teacher Programme allows you to start working in a secondary school as soon as possible to gain valuable classroom experience, before progressing onto teacher training starting in September 2026, subject to a successful interview and placement.
You will initially work in school in a support or cover role to develop your skills, confidence, and understanding of the classroom, while being supported through the process of securing a teacher training place.
During the programme you will:
Start working in a school ASAP to gain paid experience
Build classroom confidence before training begins
Develop behaviour management and teaching skills
Receive guidance with teacher training applications
Progress onto teacher training starting in September (subject to interview)
The Role (Before September)
Supporting teaching and learning in secondary schools
Working as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor
Delivering pre-planned lessons when appropriate
Supporting small groups and individual pupils
Gaining experience across different subjects and year groups
Teacher Training (From September 2026)
Successful candidates will move onto a teacher training route starting in September 2026, subject to interview and acceptance onto a training programme with one of our partner schools or providers.
Requirements
A UK degree (2:2 or above preferred)
Strong interest in becoming a teacher
Confident working with young people
Good communication and organisational skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
