How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    KS1 Functional Skills Tutor Required – Experience Supporting ASD learners

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher/tutor to provide Functional Skills support for Key Stage 1 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful tutor will deliver structured, supportive lessons that promote confidence, engagement, and progress in early literacy and numeracy.

    This role requires a patient, adaptable professional who understands the learning needs of children with ASD and can provide a calm, consistent learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Deliver individualised tutoring sessions tailored to the pupils’ learning profiles

    * Support the development of early literacy skills, including phonics, reading, and writing

    * Support early numeracy skills, including number recognition, counting, and basic maths concepts

    * Use structured, engaging, and ASD-friendly teaching strategies

    * Adapt teaching approaches to suit the pupils’ communication style, sensory needs, and pace of learning

    * Build a positive and trusting relationship with the children to encourage engagement and confidence

    * Provide brief feedback and progress updates where required

    Essential Requirements:

    * Experience supporting children in Key Stage 1 (ages 5–7)

    * Demonstrable experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

    * Knowledge of early years / KS1 literacy and numeracy development

    * A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching

    * Ability to deliver lessons that are structured, engaging, and differentiated

    Desirable:

    * Teaching qualification or tutoring experience

    * Experience using visual supports, structured learning approaches, or autism-friendly strategies

    * Background in SEN education or specialist support

    Session Details:

    * Small group tutoring sessions

    * Session schedule and duration to be agreed

    We are looking for a tutor who can provide consistent, supportive, and engaging learning opportunities that help the pupil develop essential skills while building confidence and independence.
