KS1 (Year 2) Class Teacher

As the Year 2 Teacher, you will guide pupils through a crucial stage of their learning journey—helping them build strong foundations in social skills, early reading, writing, and numeracy. The ideal candidate will bring warmth, energy, and a nurturing approach to ensure every child feels confident, supported, and eager to learn each day.

You’ll be joining a friendly Key Stage 1 team who collaborate closely, share ideas, and are committed to creating a positive, engaging environment where children thrive.

What you need:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Recent experience teaching in KS1 (Year 2 preferred)

Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics delivery

A valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Confident planning, delivering and assessing high-quality lessons

Desired Skills & Qualities:

Passion for supporting early learners

Excellent phonics/literacy knowledge

Strong behaviour management and a nurturing classroom presence

Creativity to make lessons inspiring and accessible

Clear communication, teamwork, and a child-centred mindset
