We are seeking a Junior Chemist to join our Research & Development team, based at our Ellesmere Port laboratory facility.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative new products through hands‑on laboratory work and collaborative research activities. Working alongside experienced Research Chemists and Platform Leaders, you will support the delivery of technical programmes, gain exposure to product innovation, and develop your skills within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake scientific and experimental work to support the development of new products, working under the guidance of Research Chemists and the Platform Leader.
- Carry out laboratory experiments, ensuring accurate data recording, analysis, and clear communication of experimental and analytical results.
- Contribute technical input to project programmes, supporting planned research activities and offering ideas to help progress project objectives.
- Prepare and deliver monthly progress updates as requested by Research Chemists or the Platform Leader.
- Build awareness of product developments within assigned project areas and maintain an understanding of relevant scientific and industry trends.
- Develop familiarity with emerging research tools, techniques, and technologies that support programme success.
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification in Chemistry.
- Strong practical chemistry skills, with industrial laboratory experience highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong written, verbal, and presentation capabilities.
- Demonstrated creativity and the ability to translate ideas into practical outcomes.
- Evidence of wider scientific interest beyond academic study.
- Good working knowledge of modern computer software and digital tools.
