- Inspection: Perform visual, physical, and functional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Measurement: Use precision tools such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges, shadow graphs and CMMs to verify dimensions against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), or industry-specific standards e.g., AS9100 for aerospace. Including all standards, internal policies, procedures and legal regulations that apply to the finished product
- Documentation: Record inspection results, maintain accurate logs, and prepare non-conformance reports for rejected items.
- Problem Solving: Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes of defects and suggest process improvements, questioning the nature of defects while providing future solutions.
- Calibration: Control, maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure usage logs are documented and accuracy is maintained.
