Purpose of the role - We are seeking an experienced QS with a strong background in M&E to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on multiple nuclear projects across the North of England. The role provides the unique opportunity to work flexible, while we are looking for someone in the north of England we would require a on site nature when it is required.
What you'll be doing -
• Lead the commercial management of works over several Nuclear North projects, including procurement, cost reporting, and contract administration.
• The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Submission of Cost Value Reconciliations / Preparation of cost to complete
• Cash management and maximisation
• Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
• Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines
• Prepare, negotiate, and agree subcontractor and supplier accounts.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms (e.g. NEC or JCT) and internal governance.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders
What you'll bring -
• Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
• Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting
• Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own
• Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team
• You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for an M&E Subcontractor, with a sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract
• M&E Subcontracting background is essential.
• Proven track record in cost control, reporting, subcontractor management, and change management.
• Experience working in live, operational environments is advantageous.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
