Quantity Surveyor | London (City-based office)
Day Rate - £350-£450/day
Our client is a well-established and highly respected specialist contractor operating across London and the South East. They deliver complex reinforced concrete (RC) frame, groundworks, civil engineering and structural cut & carve packages on major commercial and infrastructure schemes.
With a strong reputation in the data centre sector- particularly delivering substations and enabling works packages- they are known for technical expertise, repeat business and high-profile projects across the capital.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in their City of London office.
The Role
Reporting to a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full commercial lifecycle of RC frame, groundworks and structural packages from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing subcontractor procurement and package buyouts
- Preparing and submitting interim valuations
- Cost reporting and CVR management
- Managing variations and change control
- Subcontractor payment applications and final accounts
- Risk management and commercial mitigation strategies
- Supporting project teams with contractual advice
- Liaising with clients, consultants and site teams
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within RC Frame & Groundworks
- Experience on cut & carve or heavy civil packages desirable
- Exposure to substation or data centre projects advantageous
- Strong knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
