    Job description

Our client, a major global sports rightsholder, is seeking a Data Privacy Lawyer to join its in‑house legal team on a temporary project basis. This is a high‑impact role advising on data protection compliance across a diverse and dynamic global business. As a guide, this role is likely to suit someone at Associate/Senior Associate (or equivalent) level with circa 3-6 years' PQE. However, our client is prepared to consider individuals outside of this range.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Advise on all aspects of data protection and privacy law, including global compliance, commercial initiatives, digital products, marketing, and fan‑engagement activities.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate privacy‑related contractual terms, including DPAs and data‑sharing agreements.
    • Support privacy governance, policies, DPIAs, and training across the organisation.
    • Provide pragmatic, business‑focused guidance to senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.

    About You

    • Qualified lawyer with strong post‑qualification experience in data protection.
    • High quality legal training at a top international law firm or reputable in-house legal department.
    • Strong understanding of GDPR and broader global privacy frameworks.
    • Confident communicator with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.
