    Job description

    Disputes Lawyer - 2–4 PQE - London

A leading international law firm in London is seeking a 2–4 PQE Disputes Associate to join its highly regarded and dynamic disputes practice. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team with a strong reputation for handling complex, high-value disputes on both a domestic and international scale. The team is recognised for its technical excellence, collaborative culture, and ability to advise clients on some of the most significant matters in the market.

    Team Structure and Culture

The London disputes team is a highly collaborative and integrated part of the firm’s global disputes platform. The group operates across a variety of practice areas, including High Court litigation, international commercial arbitration, regulatory enforcement, and competition disputes. Associates joining the team benefit from exposure to a broad spectrum of disputes work and are encouraged to contribute meaningfully from day one.

The team’s culture prioritises collegiality, mentorship, and professional development. Lawyers are given direct responsibility for their work while also being supported by experienced partners and counsel. The environment encourages intellectual curiosity, teamwork, and a proactive approach to both client service and career growth.

    Scope of Work

The role offers exposure to a wide range of complex and high-profile disputes matters, including:

    • High Court litigation, acting on significant commercial disputes
    • International commercial arbitration, including cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters
    • Competition litigation and regulatory enforcement work
    • Complex contractual and corporate disputes with international elements
    • Multi-party, high-value transactions where disputes arise

The team regularly advises leading corporates, financial institutions, and multinational organisations on both contentious and strategic matters. Associates will be expected to draft pleadings, manage case preparation, conduct research, engage with clients, and work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions. This breadth of exposure ensures that associates develop both technical litigation skills and commercial judgment.

    Candidate Profile

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • 2–4 PQE in disputes or related litigation practice
    • A strong record of High Court litigation or international arbitration experience
    • Intellectual excellence, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
    • Excellent team-working skills, natural collegiality, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
    • A genuine enthusiasm for taking on a broad range of disputes matters, including regulatory and competition-related cases

Experience in other areas where the firm has leading international disputes practices is highly desirable. Candidates should be comfortable working on complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes, often involving high-value or strategically significant clients.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic, high-performing disputes team within a globally recognised law firm. Key benefits of the role include:

    • Exposure to some of the largest and most significant disputes in the market, both domestically and internationally
    • Integration into a global disputes platform, providing cross-jurisdictional experience and collaboration with colleagues worldwide
    • A culture that encourages professional growth, mentorship, and skill development
    • Direct involvement in complex cases that offer substantive responsibility early in your career
    • The opportunity to work with a supportive, collegial team committed to excellence in client service

The firm offers a stimulating and challenging environment where associates can develop as well-rounded disputes lawyers, gaining expertise across litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters. For ambitious 2–4 PQE candidates seeking exposure to high-value disputes and international work, this role represents a clear path to both professional growth and technical mastery.
