The Role:
This role would suit an individual who is keen for an in-house position at a top-tier unscripted independent media production company who wants to work in a dynamic, collegiate and supportive working team and enjoys being at the centre of a creative and growing company.
As part of the Legal & Business Affairs team, you will play a pivotal role in negotiating and drafting commercial agreements across various media platforms, from television to immersive experiences.
Reporting to the Director of Legal & Business Affairs, you will collaborate closely with development, production and distribution teams in a vibrant, inclusive environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial agreements including television, immersive (VR/AR/MR), digital (apps; projection), giant screen/theatric), music and books
- Drafting and negotiating:
- Development, production, distribution/licensing agreements, including awareness of recent developments in commissioning (UK terms of trade; global streaming).
- Contractor, contributor, talent, composer, location and access agreements.
- Advising on contractual rights, compliance, and strategic initiatives
- Keeping abreast of important legal developments in the industry
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience of complex negotiations in a TV, digital/immersive or agency environment
- Solid knowledge of commercial law, IP rights and/or awareness of production, distribution, content rights and licensing
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement
- Experience with digital and tech content contracts is a plus
