Financial Planner – London | Established IFA Firm | Succession & Growth Opportunity
A well-established and growing Independent Financial Planning firm is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Planner to join its London team. Following a number of recent acquisitions and the planned exit of several former principals, the firm is now seeking a capable adviser to help service and transition an established client base while continuing to grow new business.
This is a true IFA proposition, offering full independence across products and providers. The role will suit a commercially minded adviser who is comfortable operating in a blended hunter/farmer capacity — inheriting clients through smooth transitions while also developing new relationships over time.
Package
- Salary: £80,000–£85,000 (circa £75,000 if not yet Chartered, depending on experience)
Bonus Structure:
- 20% of salary KPI-based (annual reviews, file quality, compliance standards etc.), paid quarterly
- 25% of written new business
- 25% of year-one recurring income
The KPI element is structured and achievable - the majority of the current team regularly attain full quarterly payments, reinforcing a culture of strong behaviours and consistent standards.
The Role
The incoming adviser will join a team of nine and benefit from a mature, well-funded client base. Many clients are currently aligned to exiting advisers, with structured handovers in place to ensure smooth transitions. This creates a genuine opportunity to inherit relationships while still being encouraged to generate new business over time.
Clients are typically established, mature investors with average portfolios of £900k–£1m+, requiring holistic advice across pensions, investments, tax planning and estate planning.
Ideal Profile
- 5–10 years’ industry experience
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status
- CAS and current SPS required
- Strong cashflow planning capability (Voyant experience needed)
- Experience with VCT, EIS and Business Relief planning advantageous
- Calm, self-sufficient and comfortable managing own diary
- Open to a hybrid model (ideally 3 days in office, subject to client needs)
The culture is professional, experienced and relationship-led. The firm is looking for someone steady, commercially aware and comfortable stepping into an established client environment.
Interview Process
- Stage 1: 30-minute Teams call (culture fit)
- Stage 2: Office meeting (30 minutes) with senior leadership
- Final stage: 1-hour meeting with Directors/CEO
- Offer possible after two stages, depending on process
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable Financial Planner looking to join a stable, acquisitive IFA with an established client base and realistic bonus structure.
