    Office Administrator (Sales & Finance)

    Location: Knowsley

    Job Type: Full-time & Permanent


    About the Role

    We are looking for an experienced and organised Office Administrator to play a key role in supporting both our sales operations and finance function within a busy packaging distribution business.

    This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being at the heart of the business — supporting customers, working closely with sales colleagues, liaising with suppliers and warehouses, and keeping the numbers accurate behind the scenes. You will be confident managing your own workload, comfortable working to deadlines, and happy juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


    Key Responsibilities

    Sales Administration

    • Handling inbound customer enquiries and providing a professional, friendly and responsive service.
    • Processing sales and purchase orders accurately, from order entry through to delivery.
    • Supporting external sales colleagues with day-to-day account activity and administration.
    • Liaising with suppliers, warehouse teams and internal colleagues to ensure customer commitments are met.
    • Managing your own administration efficiently, accurately and to agreed deadlines.


    Finance Administration & Reporting

    • Running and communicating daily and monthly sales reports.
    • Supporting the wider finance function with accurate and timely administrative processes.


    Sales Ledger (Accounts Receivable)

    • Posting customer payments into Sage and completing bank reconciliations.
    • Processing customer statements, invoices and handling any related queries.
    • Assisting with credit control processes, including issuing credit control letters.
    • Monitoring and managing customer credit limits in line with company policy.


    Purchase Ledger (Accounts Payable)

    • Processing supplier invoices into Sage accurately and promptly.
    • Checking supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.
    • Ensuring supplier accounts are kept up to date.


    Skills & Experience

    • Previous experience in an office administration role, ideally within distribution, manufacturing, or a similar fast-moving environment.
    • Strong sales administration and finance administration experience.
    • Confident using accounting software (experience with Sage is highly desirable).
    • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Comfortable communicating with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines without losing accuracy.
    • A proactive, friendly approach with a willingness to support the wider team.

    The Package

    ·      Salary £25 - 30k with additional annual bonus scheme
