Head of Product Design (Hands-on initially, team build after 3 months)

We’re partnering with a high-growth Series B AI company building AI-powered productivity software, now scaling decisively into SaaS and enterprise. The business has added $20M+ ARR in the last 12 months, is ~70+ people, and is backed by top-tier global investors.
They’re hiring a Head of Product Design who will be hands-on initially, acting as a Lead Product Designer before hiring and growing the design team. This role has real ownership across problem definition, solution design and execution, working directly with founders and engineering.
What you’ll do
- Own the end-to-end design for core workflows, rolling up your sleeves early to ship meaningful improvements.
- Set clear design standards and direction within the first 3–6 months
- Lead discovery and product definition in partnership with founders and engineers
- Shape the product roadmap and broader product experience as the company scales
- Hire at least one additional designer and start building the design culture (4 designers by end of 2026)
What they’re looking for
- Currently operating as a Head of Product Design or Principal/Lead Product Designer
- Strong product thinking with experience owning complex products end-to-end
- Background in product-led startups or high-quality scaleups
- Happy being hands-on first, then transitioning into leadership
- AI experience a plus
